2 EPISODE 1 IN GOOD FAITH
Jack and Beth give Will a few days off as he and Sarah are moving
house. Beth asks Will how things are going he says he and Sarah are trying to
sort out their money troubles, hence the house move.
Beth tells Jack she wants to spend the evening alone so that she can catch up
with herself. He agrees it's a good idea - he's got a tax form to fill in. No
sooner have they arrived home to their separate houses they both get bored and
lonely. Beth attempts to call Jack but he beats her to it - arriving on her
doorstep with a bottle of wine. She is happy to see him.
Trevor is having problems 'performing' and keeps giving Leanda the brush off.
She is heartbroken and thinks Trevor doesn't want her anymore. Trevor visits
Jack but find it hard to explain the sexual problems he is encountering. He
later talks to Will who tells Trevor he is suffering from stress.
Beth goes to see Will and hands him a housewarming present. He teases her about
she and Jack and tells her he should stop stringing Jack along. Beth is adamant
that she isn't but Will is sure that Jack just wants a wife to go with his
country G.P image.
WILL: Tenner says
he'll pop the question by the end of the year - and die of a broken heart
Jack and Ellie attend an emergency at the local primary school. Penny
Meadows has had an asthma attack and doesn't have her inhaler. Her mother Ann
arrives and stops the ambulance from taking Penny to the hospital. Jack tries to
make her see sense but Ann has recently started to believe in faith healing and believes
the church will heal her daughter. Jack and Ellie go to their house where they
can hear Penny struggling to breathe. Jack threatens to call social services if
Ann doesn't let him treat Penny now. Ann calls out the church healer but as
Penny's condition worsens he admits he is a fake. He goes to the door and lets
Jack and Ellie in the house to treat Penny.
Jack and Ellie take Penny to the hospital where Penny's parents are absolutely
disgusted with Jack's behaviour. Neither believe Penny was in danger and don't
think Jack had the right to threaten them with the social services. Beth arrives
and tells the Meadow's that she would've done exactly the same thing. However
when she and Jack leave the hospital she tells Jack he was too pushy and they
both go home alone.
Will picks Sarah up from her new job as school secretary. He tells her he's
scared of them failing. They move into their new home and Tony and Julien are
not happy with it. They insist that they are now poor. However poor they are
Will still manages to buy Sarah a bottle of perfume.
SARAH: In a few years I'll have a work record and I can
look for something really exciting.
WILL:
Like a new husband?
Trevor explains to Leanda what Will said about him being under stress. He
asks her to marry him - she excitedly says yes!
Jack and Beth go for a drive. He says they should make their relationship
more permanent - get wed. Beth says she's not ready to be settled and Jack
upsets her when he says she already is settled. She says there are still things
she would like to do and isn't ready to bow out just yet. He is hurt that she
thinks them getting married would stop her or wreck her life. The stop talking
and head of to the hills in silence.
BETH: I don't want to get married. I'm not ready to bow out
just yet.
JACK:
I think you're confusing marriage with cardiac arrest.
